The Treasurer's Office is responsible for the development and maintenance
of the cash management program and the procurement of funds utilizing long
and short-term financing vehicles. In addition, the Treasurer's Office is
also responsible for investment monitoring, custody and development of the
asset/manager diversification program of the University. The University investment
portfolio includes endowment, pension, insurance and working capital assets.
Services Available

Serves as a liaison between University Departments and banks
for the purchase/lease, installation and training of staff
with regard to obtaining a VISA/MASTERCARD/MAC terminal. This
terminal is necessary when a department would like to offer
patients the option of using a credit card or MAC card for
payment of charges incurred.

Provides the necessary information to enable a person or company
outside the University to wire transfer funds (both foreign
and domestic) directly to the University. These funds may be
for the payment of invoices or the receipt of grants.

Identifies miscellaneous wire transfers received by the University
for grant/research purposes.

Sales of Securities/Donations/Gifts -- upon receiving stock
certificates along with specific instructions from the Development
Office and/or Alumni Office regarding the correct general ledger
account to be credited for gifts, the Treasurer's Office will
initiate a transaction to sell stock and deposit the resulting
proceeds in the appropriate general ledger account.

Stand-by Letters of Credit -- when a stand-by letter of credit
is required to support a debt obligation of the University,
the Treasurer's Office will negotiate with a financial institution
to arrange for best terms available.

Provides current conversion rate for foreign currency on a
daily basis.
