3 + 2 EMOT

Earn both the Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees within five years after graduation from high school.

Apply for admission to the 3+2 EMOT program using the regular University of Delaware undergraduate application. If admitted, you will spend the first three years at Delaware and then proceed to Jefferson for the final two years of Occupational Therapy coursework. Earn your bachelor's degree in Health Studies from Delaware after successful completion of the first year at Jefferson School of Health Professions (JSHP).  Jefferson awards a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy after successful completion of the third year at JSHP.

Admission Requirements

High school students:
- Designate the EMOT option as your choice of major (On the application, the major is
             “Occupational Therapy (Health Studies)”)
- Interview with the University of Delaware/Jefferson joint admissions committee
            (late January/early February)
- Submit an essay detailing your interest in Occupational Therapy

Current University of Delaware students:
- Total earned credit hours: 30 or fewer
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
- A grade of C or better in all prerequisite courses for the program at Jefferson
- Interview with the University of Delaware/Jefferson joint admissions committee
  (late January/early February)

- SAT Reasoning test scores or ACT Scores with optional writing section
- Common Application and UD Supplement
- Admissions essay with reference to OT interest
- Two letters of reference
- Application fee
- December 1 Priority deadline

Curriculum Options

- 3-year BS in Health Studies curricular track
- Credits earned during the first year at JSHP will be counted toward the completion
   of the University of Delaware's BS degree in Health Studies

Curriculum Requirements

- Students must earn at least a 3.0 GPA both overall and in the sciences
- A grade of at least 'C' is required to transfer prerequisite coursework to JSHP
