You may not withdraw cash from your student printing account.  All deposits must be made through the Jefferson Online Card Center or in person at the Customer Service Counter, located in the Jefferson Bookstore at 1009 Chestnut Street during regular business hours.

Limits on the Use of Your Student Printing Account

You may use your Jefferson ID Card as many times a day as you wish, provided there are sufficient funds in your student printing account to pay for the printing or copying requested.  If you use all the funds in your account, you must make another deposit and the funds must be available before your Jefferson ID Card may be used for printing or copying again.

Lost/Stolen ID Cards

If you believe your Jefferson ID Card has been lost or stolen or that unauthorized printing or copying with your Jefferson ID Card has occurred or may occur, please contact the Customer Service Counter, located in the Jefferson Bookstore at 1009 Chestnut Street, at (215) 955-6417 during our regular business hours.

For your convenience, the Online Card Center is available 24 hours a day to report your card as lost or found.

If your Jefferson ID Card is lost or stolen your student printing account will be frozen immediately when you report the loss/theft through the Online Card Center; otherwise the account will be frozen upon reporting the loss/theft to a Customer Service Counter representative. The funds in your account cannot be protected until you report the loss/theft.

When you report your Jefferson ID Card lost/stolen you must purchase a new card; your account will then be reactivated with the remaining balance from your student printing account, subject to the liability set forth in the section Liability for Unauthorized Transactions.

No Charges for Transactions

There are no charges for using your Jefferson ID Card.  There will be a replacement fee of $15.00 to replace your Jefferson ID Card if it is lost or stolen.

Records of Transactions

You may not receive a printed receipt for each account transaction, but the remaining amount in your student printing account and the amount of the purchase will be displayed at the terminal at the time of the transaction.  You may obtain a statement through the Online Card Center showing your transactions and the status of your account.

Liability for Unauthorized Transactions

If you believe your Jefferson ID Card is lost or stolen you can put your account on hold by visiting the Online Card Center or you can call the Customer Service Counter at (215) 955-6417 during regular business hours.

You could lose all your funds in your student printing account if you take no action to notify us of the loss of your Jefferson ID Card.  Once you report the loss through the Online Card Center or speak with a Customer Service Counter representative during regular business hours your Jefferson ID Card will be frozen immediately.

If you do not inform the Customer Service Counter about your lost/stolen card, the Customer Service Counter and Thomas Jefferson University are not responsible for any charges made to the student printing account.

If you notify the Customer Service Counter (online, in-person or via phone) of the loss, your liability for unauthorized transactions using your Jefferson ID Card will be as follows:

  • If you contact us within two (2) business days of your discovery of the loss, you may be liable for up to $50.00 if the card was used without your permission.
  • If you contact us after two (2) business days of your discovery of the loss, you may be liable for up to $500.00 if the card was used without your permission.

In Case of Error or Questions about Transactions

You must provide the following information:

After we receive your inquiry, we will tell you the result of our investigation within five (5) business days after we hear from you and we will correct any error promptly.  If we need more time, however, we may take up to 15 business days to investigate your complaint/question.  If more time is needed to investigate, we will credit your account within 10 business days for the amount you believe to be in error, so that you will have the use of the money during the time it takes to complete the investigation.  If we do not receive your complaint/question in writing within two (2) business days of your verbal notice, we may not credit your Jefferson ID Card.  If we decide that there is no error, we will send you a written explanation within three (3) business days after we finish our investigation.  You may ask for copies of the documents that were used in the investigation.  If we credit your account with funds while investigating an error, you must repay those funds if it is concluded that no error has occurred.
