Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Academy
Medical Assistants provide administrative and clinical support in a variety of health care settings for patients. This program is a combination of formal education and clinical experience to prepare students to have a competitive edge as an entry-level Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program offers a premium education with experiential learning to train students as highly-skilled medical assistants in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, physicians' offices, and other health organizations. This curriculum is designed for full-time students which include a built-in externship within a Jefferson University Physician Ambulatory practice for 12 weeks.
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Academy program will cover the following:
- Administrative Procedures
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Clinical Procedures
- Electronic Health Records
- Interpersonal Relations
- Medical Law and Ethics
- Medical Terminology
Upon completion of courses, graduates will take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Healthcareer Association. Credits earned through this program are applicable to a bachelor’s degree.

10th grade math and reading level
TABE testing is required and if needed, a basic skills review program is required starting January 2018.
