Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience
Welcome to the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson. The Institute was established with a generous gift from Vickie and Jack Farber (pictured to the right) of the Farber Family Foundation, Inc, and opened its doors early in 2002. They have witnessed the devastation of neurological disease in their own family and have contributed one of the largest gifts in Jefferson history to support research that helps find the cures.
Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience faculty are drawn from more than a dozen departments throughout the University, including:
- Department of Neurology
- Department of Neurological Surgery
- Department of Neuroscience
- Department of Psychiatry
Each area carries out basic, translational and clinical research designed to understand fundamental mechanisms of the normal and diseased brain. Our specialists translate that understanding into treatments for neurodegenerative and other devastating disorders.
