Our Department is part of the College of Health Professions here at Thomas Jefferson University in Center City Philadelphia. The Program received provisional accreditation* by the ARC-PA in March of 2014, and we welcomed our pioneer class, the Class of 2016, in May of 2014. Graduates of our Program will be awarded a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) degree and are eligible to take the PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam) following successful completion of the Program.
Our long tradition of training excellent clinicians, along with our state-of-the-art classrooms, iPad learning platforms and Simulation Center, offer a truly interactive and engaging environment where our students can thrive. It’s an exciting time to be in Health Education, as we prepare to train the future leaders in our Nation’s ever-changing health care system. We are committed to providing educational opportunities that will allow every student to train with a multidisciplinary team.
One of the experiences that students participate in is our Health Mentors Program, an innovative longitudinal approach to teaching clinical medicine in multidisciplinary groups, pairing a patient living with chronic disease and an integrated group of students representing Sidney Kimmel Medical College and the Colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Professions. Through this experience, students learn how to better communicate with their colleagues and to appreciate the assets that each profession brings to the healthcare team.
Our students are our greatest asset, and members of our first class have become ambassadors for our Program and for the PA Profession across campus.
Thank you and we look forward to reviewing your application!
