Couple and Family Therapy: the Jefferson Difference

Why Jefferson

Jefferson offers two specialty tracks:

–     Sex Therapy (Jefferson’s MFT program is one
of the only in the US with a concentration in
Sex Therapy.)

–     Family Therapy

All students are introduced to current areas of practice, including medical family therapy and Jefferson students are supervised by the largest number of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) approved supervisors in the region

The Program is taught and supervised by practicing Council for Relationships faculty members –all of whom are highly experienced couple and family therapists and teachers

Students are provided with practicum placements at various Council for Relationships locations as well as sites within the Jefferson Health System

Because Jefferson is a leader in interprofessional education, our students gain valuable experience collaborating with students and residents from other health professions in clinical seminars and medical rounds

Individuals have the opportunity to participate in ongoing couple and family therapy clinical research, workshops, and training

Live and videotaped supervision by experienced therapists enables students to get the most out of their clinical sessions
