What makes Jefferson’s PT program unique?
Interprofessional education and interprofessional practice are sweeping healthcare institutions across the US. In this regard, Thomas Jefferson University is a true leader.
Our specialization in healthcare education provides a unique opportunity to learn in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
In fact, Jefferson’s model for healthcare education depends on a true community of professionals and scholars whose members learn with and from one another. They embrace each other’s contributions. And they collaborate to provide the finest care possible.
Tour the campus’ Dorrance H. Hamilton Building. Inside, you may see future physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, radiological technologists and bioscience technologists partnering in an array of state-of-the-art simulation centers or simply relaxing together in inviting common spaces.
Established in 2007, Jefferson InterProfessional Education Center (JCIPE) is dedicated to improving patient care through implementing and evaluating patient-centered, interprofessional education throughout the Thomas Jefferson University curriculum.
Visit the JCIPE website to learn more.
Human Performance Lab
Our new, state-of-the-art Human Performance Lab maintains an array of instrumentation for the study of gait and movement, energy expenditure and muscle function. As a PT student at Jefferson, you will come here as a regular part of your DPT coursework. Intrigued by what they can learn here, some students will assist faculty in research projects. Prior studies have included evaluation and efficacy of treatments for infants with brachial plexus birth palsy; analysis of gait for individuals with neurological deficits; and exploring strength and motion recovery following surgical repair for orthopedic injuries.
A University 100% Focused on Healthcare Studies
Thomas Jefferson University is dedicated to one thing: training the next generation of healthcare professionals who will provide the best clinical care, research and service.
Our Physical Therapy program is a thriving member of Jefferson's larger campus which includes:
- Jefferson Medical College
- Jefferson School of Nursing
- Jefferson School of Pharmacy
- Jefferson School of Health Professions
- Jefferson School of Population Health
- Jefferson Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
Together, Thomas Jefferson University offers greater breadth and depth in healthcare education than ever before.
Opportunities to Travel Abroad
