Building the Jefferson Community
Choosing on campus living is choosing to take part in community living at Thomas Jefferson University. We are proud of the residential community that the Department of Housing and Residence Life (DHRL) is able to offer.
Safety & Security
Thomas Jefferson University makes your personal safety a high priority. That is why the TJU Campus Security Department is well-trained, well-staffed and supported by state-of-the-art technology. While living on campus, you can be assured that our Campus Security and our wonderful team of desk clerks are working to keep you safe.
Highlights to Living On Campus
Comfort & Convenience
Living on campus will provide better opportunities to meet fellow students with common interests and goals. You will enjoy all of the modern amenities necessary to make your new home a comfortable place to live and one that will help promote your academic endeavors.
Access to Resources (& Fun)
Students come to Jefferson from across the country and around the world. Your time at Jefferson will be one of discovery of people and places . The Residence Life program was developed to assist each resident in discovering one another, campus, and the Philadelphia region.
The Residential Review
DHRL publishes a monthly newsletter to all students living on-campus called, The Residential Review. This newsletter provides important information to students about living on-campus while helping to enhance communication between DHRL and the students.

Residence Life Programming & Events
The Residence Life staff is dedicated to making your experience living on-campus enjoyable and fun! The Resident Assistant (RA) staff plan many programs in and around campus. We encourage all of the students living on-campus to come out to an event or program! Some past events have included:
- New Student Meet & Greet
- Movies at Penns Landing
- 76er's games
- Fantasy Football Draft party
- Ice Cream Socials
- Chinese New Year
- And much, much more!
The Residence Life Staff hosted the "Martin Halloween Mixer" where residents could go around the building in costume (or not), get some food and treats, and have fun socializing with their fellow students in the spirit of Halloween.
DHRL regularly sponsors two trips (one in the fall, one in the spring) to see a 76er's game. A fun night on the town!
The Residence Life staff kicked off the beginning of summer / end of spring with a Luau in the Orlowitz Courtyard. The warm weather outside was nice after a long winter!
