Jefferson's Employee Wellness Program

The program was established to enhance the quality of life of Jefferson employees by promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing the risk of illness by utilizing Jefferson's wide range of educational and clinical resources. Jefferson has partnered with RedBrick Health to create a rewards program with an interactive online employee portal. Please read below to learn how you can LiveWell@Jeff!

Jefferson has partnered with RedBrick Health to improve the online user experience to help you in more ways to LiveWell@Jeff. Go to MyRedBrick.com/Jefferson now to register for the portal! All benefits-eligible employees of Jefferson and their spouse or domestic partner, and members of 1199C enrolled in a Jefferson-sponsored health plan and their spouse or domestic partner are eligible to participate in RedBrick Activities.

Beyond Diets
This 6-week series provides in-depth information about protein, fat, carbohydrates, calories, meal planning and restaurant eating from the point of view of weight management and enabling weight loss. Participants are invited to attend one Beyond Diets class at no charge. If you would like to continue attending the program, the cost is $200 for Jefferson employees and worth 25 wellness points. Independence Blue Cross reimbursement of $150 is available for eligible participants. Please contact Cheryl Marco at 5-5078 or Cheryl.Marco@jefferson.edu for more information or to discuss the best week for you to attend the program.

Upcoming Activities

March 2-13 - EXOS Journey Pre-Registration
EXOS Journey is a 12-week program combining personal coaching, nutritional support and personalized workouts. Pre-registration is intended to gauge interest and availability of participants. The program begins in late April and is worth 25 wellness points. Please make sure to submit your pre-registration form to LiveWell@jefferson.edu or fax to 215-923-5414 by March 13.

March 18 - JeffQuit (25 points)
6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., 925 Chestnut St, Suite 120
This 3-session event is also at this location on 4/1 and 4/8. Based on a proven method, JeffQuit maximizes success by gradually decreasing the amount of nicotine over a three-week period – providing the greatest reduction of withdrawal symptoms. Please be sure to register beforehand at 1-800-JEFF-NOW.

March 19 - Halfway There - A Retirement Checkup (5 points)
Various times and locations
Don’t let retirement sneak up on you. Allow yourself time to plan and for your savings to potentially grow. It’s never too late (or too early) to start. Please be sure to register beforehand at www.tiaa-cref.org/jefferson or call 800 732-8353.

March 19 - Healthy Living/Healthy You (25 points)
12:15 p.m. - 1:10 p.m., 1013 Chestnut St 
An 8-week program with one 55-minute session each week that combines
scientific dietary principles with effective fitness techniques that are simple to learn and incorporate into daily practice. Anyone can benefit, regardless of current weight or fitness level. Please be sure to register beforehand at 1-800-JEFF-NOW.

March 21 - Fight For Air Climb (10 points)
7:00 a.m., Three Logan Square, 1717 Arch St 
Join the American Heart Association and experience the climb of your life. Every step you take is a step in our fight for healthy lungs and clean air. Register under Jefferson’s team led by Steve Gudowski.

March 26 - Expectant Parent Workshop (5 points)
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., 833 Chestnut St, Jefferson Obstetrics & Gynecology Entrance 
The class will cover important topics and information including: Jefferson’s Maternity Leave Benefits, Jefferson services for OB and Pediatric Care and initiating a plan for pregnancy and post-partum periods. Please be sure to register by calling 503-HRSC by March 24.

Pharmacy Consults (5 points)
The Pharmacy Department is pleased to offer you and your family a 30-minute consult which includes a comprehensive medication review including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and herbal/supplements. Convenient Cancer Screening Progam for Women (10-20 points)
Jefferson now provides multiple screenings in ONE location and ONE visit (offered at Center City and Methodist locations). You can schedule screenings together: mammogram and colon cancer pre-screening and GYN exam. Call 1-800-JEFF-NOW to schedule your appointment.

Lung Cancer Screening Program
Jefferson Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has partnered with Human Resources to offer a comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening Program to employees for free. The screening program includes a low dose CT scan of the chest, physical examination, breathing test, review of the CT scan by a radiologist and smoking cessation counseling. Rewards Program

About the 2015 Wellness Program

The LiveWell@Jeff program will be partnering with RedBrick Health for the 2015 wellness year. RedBrick offers an enhanced user experience, better disease management and accessibility through web and mobile apps. Employees will also be able to sync their fitness trackers, such as a Fitbit, to the portal! The RedBrick Portal will be available beginning in December and activities may be counted from October 1, 2014. Once all 2015 program requirements are met, employees will be eligible to receive the 2016 wellness rates, beginning January 1, 2016. Requirements include:

  • Complete a 15-minute Compass health assessment by September 30, 2015.*
  • Complete health screening (biometric) either onsite this spring, at your physician’s office using RedBrick form or at participating pharmacies by September 15, 2015 to allow time for processing. List of participating pharmacies will be available on the RedBrick portal. Please be aware, screening results are no longer self-report and will be submitted to RedBrick’s portal by the organization completing your screening.*
  • Earn 70 points through RedBrick and Jefferson sponsored Activities by September 30, 2015.

*Spouses/domestic partners covered under an employee's Jefferson coverage are also required to complete the Compass health assessment and a health screening for employees to earn 2016 wellness rates. They are encouraged to participate in RedBrick healthy activities but do not earn points.
