Jefferson's Employee Wellness Program

The program was established to enhance the quality of life of Jefferson employees by promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing the risk of illness by utilizing Jefferson's wide range of educational and clinical resources. Jefferson has partnered with Independence Blue Cross to create a rewards program with an interactive online employee portal through a collaboration with WebMD®. Please read below to learn how you can LiveWell@Jeff!


15% Savings for Wellness Rates in 2015!
Wellness Deadline: September 30 
We are pleased to be able to continue to offer a 15% savings on medical plan rates in 2015 for those employees who complete the LiveWell@Jeff program requirements. The deadline to enter your activities on the IBC website (www.ibxpress.com) and complete program requirements is September 30 at midnight. Spouse/Domestic Partners on your health plan must also complete the required activities listed above in order for you to receive the award. Additional details can be found below under Rewards Program.

Tobacco-free Attestation Deadline: September 30
All benefit-eligible employees must complete the Tobacco-free Attestation by September 30.The attestation is available in Employee Self-Service. Select Benefits and then Tobacco-free Attestation. Check the box that applies to you and click Submit.

September 5 - Hit Your Stride Ends (15 points)
The Hit Your Stride Walking Challenge ends September 5th. You must record a minimum of 27 days out of the 8 week challenge to earn 15 wellness points. You have until September 12 to record your activity. Click on our FAQs for more information.

September 8 & 11 - Intro to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (5 points)
Various times and locations
This workshop provides a taste of the fundamentals of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, which has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression and pain, and to improve well-being. Please make sure to register beforehand by calling 1-800-JEFF-NOW.

September 10 - Early Detection Saves Women's Lives (5 points)
6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Methodist, Morgan Conference Room
Join Alexander B. Sevrkov, MD, and Marianne T. Ritchie, MD for a free dinner and lecture to learn about the latest tools to aid in the early detection of breast cancer for women with dense breast tissue, as well as why colon cancer screening for women should not be overlooked. September 10 - Pediatrician's Night (5 points)

Pharmacy Consults (5 points)
The Pharmacy Department is pleased to offer you and your family a 30-minute consult which includes a comprehensive medication review including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and herbal/supplements. Convenient Cancer Screening Progam for Women (15-30 points)
Jefferson now provides multiple screenings in ONE location and ONE visit (offered at Center City and Methodist locations). You can schedule screenings together: mammogram and colon cancer pre-screening and GYN exam. Call 1-800-JEFF-NOW to schedule your appointment.

Lung Cancer Screening Program
Jefferson Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has partnered with Human Resources to offer a comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening Program to employees for free. The screening program includes a low dose CT scan of the chest, physical examination, breathing test, review of the CT scan by a radiologist and smoking cessation counseling. Spouse/Domestic Partner Criteria

Spouses/Domestic Partners on your health plan must also complete the required activities listed above in order for you to receive the reward. They will have access to the IBC Wellness Portal beginning January 1, 2014 and will be able to enter any completed activities since November 1. Their activities will not receive points as they are not required to earn 70 points; they must only complete the required activities and enter them into the Portal, by September 30, 2014.

Jefferson employees who are the primary insurance carrier on the Jefferson Health Plans are eligible to earn rewards and points.
