Submitting Protocols via eSirius

Protocols are submitting through the eSirius Protocol Submission System.   Please Note:  This site can only be accessed through Google Chrome.

Below are some quick steps on how to do the various submissions.  More information can be found in the user guides. 

Submitting a New Protocol:

  1. Log into eSirius using your campus key and password
  2. From the Protocol Actions Tab click on the grey "Start a New Protocol Application"
  3. Answer the questions on the Protocol Introduction Screen to build the contents of the protocol
  4. Complete the Protocol thoroughly and submit for review after it has been pre-reviewed by a member of the IACUC.  Your Campus Key PASSWORD is your Electronic Signature
  • Only a PI can submit the protocol for review!  A support person may write/revise/amend a protocol on behalf of a PI but the PI themselves must submit the protocol using their campus key and password. 

Submitting a Continuing Review:

  1. Click on the protocol number in the Continuing Review Tab - this will bring you to the intro page
  2. Click on the "Progress Report" tab
  3. Select Status - ("Continue as Is" = Renew) ("Withdrawn" = Terminate)
  4. Fill out the Progress Report Box
  5. If "Continue as Is" was chosen please fill out all the tabs that were generated.
  6. Submit the review - Your Campus Key PASSWORD is your Electronic Signature
  • Only a PI can submit the protocol for review! A support person may complete the continuing review but only the PI themselves can submit it for review.

Submitting a De Novo Review:

  1. Click on the protocol number in the De Novo Review Tab - this will bring you to the intro page.
  2. Fill out the Progress Report Box
  3. Select Status - ("Protocol Will Be Renewed" or "Lapse Upon Expiration")
  4. Click the grey "Save" Button then the grey "Start De Novo Review" button if renewing the protocol.
  5. You will be taken into the main body of the protocol for revisions.  Please go through each section so a green check mark will appear.
  6. Submit for review after it has been pre-reviewed by a member of the IACUC.  Your Campus Key PASSWORD is your Electronic Signature
  • Only a PI can submit the protocol for review! A support person may complete the De Novo review and revise the protocol but only the PI themselves can sumit it for review.

Submitting an Amendment/Protocol Modification:

  1. Highlight the protocol in the Protocol Actions tab
  2. With the protocol highlighted click on the grey "Start an Amendment"
  3. Fillout in detail the reason for the modification
  4. Click on the grey "Amend Protocol" Button - this will take you into the main body of the protocol.
  5. Modifiy the sections that need to be changed.
  6. Submit the amendment for review.  Your Campus Key PASSWORD is your Electronic Signature.
  • Only a PI can submit the amendment for review!  A support person may amend the protocol but only the PI themselves can submit the modification for review.
