Jefferson Nephrologist Speaks To WHYY Radio About Kidney Disease

Taunya English of WHYY Radio (90.9 FM) interviewed Jefferson nephrologist Stephanie DeLoach, MD, about kidney disease and treatment, as well as what makes the disease so prevalent in the African American population.

"A lot of African-Americans have kidney disease so a lot of us know somebody in our family who's been on dialysis, had a transplant, or had some other issue related to kidney disease or hypertension," Dr. DeLoach told WHYY Radio. "Whereas a generation ago, it seemed like a death sentence people are increasingly aware of options for treatment."
