Business Operations Group

Business Operations Group is responsible for JCCCR management in the areas of research finance, personnel management, facility management, and space acquisition. Through its centralized role, the group bridges all of the working groups and creates standards for the Center in the areas of compliance, personnel management, and space appropriation. The business operations group assures that all research projects are appropriately budgeted and expended in accordance with Institutional policy and 2 CFR 220 (formerly OMB Circular A-21). The group performs feasibility assessments with the appropriate working group and thereafter drafts, negotiates, and finalizes all budgets and payment terms. For clinical trials, they ensure every protocol has been analyzed for potential Medicare coverage and every study procedure charge is allocated correctly through TJU’s new Clinical Trial Billing Initiative. These processes are vital in protecting TJU’s status as a non-profit tax exempt institution and maintaining a positive standing with regulating offices such as the US Office of the Inspector General.
