Neuro-Ophthalmology

Directed by Dr. Peter J. Savino, patients are evaluated by residents, fellows, and attendings, and treated for illnesses or medical conditions that affect the eye-brain connection.  The Wills Eye Neuro-Ophthalmology Service treats the ocular manifestations of various conditions, such as thyroid eye disease (Graves' eye disease) or autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis (MS).  In addition, the service also treats optic neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, and the ocular disorders that may occur with brain tumors, AIDS, and stroke.
