Dr. Wenyin Shi

Dr. Wenyin Shi, Medical Director-Radiation Oncology at JHN

Dr. Shi is now responsible for our operations at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience and coordination of Gamma knife and LINAC based radiosurgery with the Dept of Neurosurgery.  Dr. Shi will have oversight over clinical operations, programatic development, and clinical trials in this arena.  Dr. Shi has developed in a short period of time over 6 cutting edge clinical trials with collaborations in neurosurgery and medical oncology.  He has already brought a great deal of energy and focus for treatment strategies for CNS tumors.


Dr. Maria Werner-Wasik, Director, Clinical Research

Dr. Werner-Wasik has the responsibility to oversee the ROPG (Radiation Oncology Protocol Group), as well as directing the overall operations of the clinical trials in the department and the integration with KCC.  She also leads the program of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) for early stage lung cancer and lung metastases.  Dr. Werner-Wasik has a great deal of clinical trial experience and protocol development.  Dr. Werner-Wasik was appointed the RTOG Institutional Principal Investigator for TJU in 2009.  In 2011, she was elected to the position of the RTOG Vice-Chair for Publications and she chairs the Publications Committee.  Dr. Werner-Wasik is a member of the RTOG’s Steering, Executive and Full Member Committees.  She is the co-PI of a U10 being submitted to NCI for cooperative group trials conducted at TJU/TJUH.
