Committees

The Committee on Appointments and Promotions is composed of the Dean's representative, ex efficio and at least five full professors who make recommendations on all new faculty appointments and promotions involving academic rank.

Applications are considered by the Committee on Appointments and Promotions. Additional approval from the Executive Council Committee, the Scientific and Academic Affairs Committee (SAAC), and the Board of Trustees is required.

For clinical faculty approved by the Committee on Appointments and Promotions, the Executive Council and the Scientific and Academic Affairs Committee, approval is also required by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Credentials Committee.

The Executive Council consists of the Dean as Chairperson, the President, ex officio and the chairpersons of each department as well as two elected representatives from the Professorial Faculty. The Committee meetings are closed unless individuals are invited by the Dean to attend.

* For meetings held at duPont and Christiana Hospitals, buses will leave campus at 11:00 a.m. and return usually by 3:30 p.m. Details will be provided as these meetings approach.

The Scientific and Academci Affairs Committee (SAAC) is a sub-committee of the Universit board of Trustees.
