We are pleased that you have decided to apply to Jefferson School of Population Health and look forward to receiving your application!

There are TWO steps in the application process:

  1. Completing the online application via http://tju.unicas.com and paying the $75.00 application fee.
  2. Completing the self-managed application by submitting the following documentation directly to UniCAS.

  • Official Transcripts
    Submit an official transcript for all undergraduate and graduate accredited institutions you have attended to UniCAS.
    • If your courses were completed outside of the United States, you must submit a course-by-course evaluation from WES (www.wes.org)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation are required for the certificate and master’s degree applications.
    Three letters of recommendation
    are required for the PhD applicants.
  • Ability to perform Graduate Work
    Applicants must demonstrate one of the following:
    • Graduate degree or at least 9 appropriate credits of earned graduate coursework with a grade of “B” or higher from an accredited institution
      • Competitive score on the GRE or other graduate entrance examination, such as GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, DAT, and so on.
    • PhD applicants will need to submit a GRE score report from tests that have been taken within the past five (5) years.
    ► If you are submitting GRE (GRE code = 7689) or other scores, an official, original copy of these scores should be sent by the examination organization directly to Jefferson School of Population Health. NOTE: GRE or other scores must be less than 5 years old.
  • CV, resume, or summary of work or volunteer experience, especially if it is related to health or healthcare.
  • Complete a personal statement, and upload it to the TJU CAS application
    Submit a personal statement/essay describing your interest in the program.  See UniCAS Application Instructions for “My Attachments” @ http://help.unicas.com:8888/tjuHelpPages/instructions-2/application-sections/my-attachments/index.html.
  • Demonstration of English Language Proficiency
    All international students and U.S. permanent residents must demonstrate English language proficiency as one of the conditions for admission to JSPH.  JSPH will accept any one of the following items to satisfy the proficiency requirement:
    • Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with an overall score of at least 87 and individual section scores as follows: Writing – 21, Speaking – 23, Reading – 21 and Listening – 22.

      Do not include the scores in the self-managed application envelope. Request that official scores to be sent to JSPH.
    • Baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university.
    • U.S. national or state licensure or certification in a medical, nursing or allied health field.

Admissions Review

  • Jefferson accepts applications on a continuing basis.  It is best to submit your application as early as possible. 
  • Applications are reviewed once the complete application - online application and supporting documentation - is received. You can expect to receive a response within 2-3 weeks.
  • The latest date to submit an online application for fall (September) admission is July 1.  The last date to submit an online application for the spring (January) is November 1.  The latest dates to receive the supporting documentation are July 15 and November 15 respectively.
