Dr. David Abraham monitors the first two years of Sidney Kimmel Medical College's (SKMC) curriculum with an emphasis on basic science courses. He is involved with assessment of SKMC at both program and student levels. Projects include: developing and implementing curriculum review processes, ensuring that each course and clerkship is reviewed and developing a process for review of segments of the current curriculum to meet LCME guidelines. Responsibilities regarding assessment of student performance include developing methods for analysis of SKMC examinations through categorization of Exam Soft questions and creating assessment criteria for JeffMD. In addition, he is the Chief Executive Proctor, responsible for administration of National Board of Medical Examiners examinations. Dr. Abraham maintains a research laboratory focusing on immune responses to parasitic infections and the development of vaccines and therapies to control these infections. The laboratory is funded by NIH, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and industry grants.
