Dr. Brendan Carr leads the research enterprise that accompanies the significant efforts to transform clinical care delivery locally and nationally. His research uses patient level claims data to study trauma systems, stroke systems, and cardiac arrest systems of care and has been funded by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, and the National Institutes of Health. He's board-certified in emergency medicine and fellowship-trained in trauma and surgical critical care, as well as health policy research. He is an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Clinical Scholars Program. Dr. Carr remains clinically active at Jefferson while on partial leave from the University to serve as Director of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Emergency Care Coordination Center.
