The Sidney Kimmel Medical College has restructured the medical education curriculum with JeffMD, a curriculum designed to our student's needs as tommorow's medical leaders.

We sponsor an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited residency training program, several fellowship programs and educational programs for medical students.

Our goal is to make basic and translational discoveries that impact our understanding of the biological sciences and human health and to train the researchers, educators and health care professionals of the future.

Our goal is to make transformational discoveries of significance for patients with cancer. 

Our world-class research programs facilitate clinical studies, investigate advances in dermatologic therapies and engage in studies of genetic skin diseases, connective-tissue disorders and skin cancers.

In our dual role as an academic department at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and as a clinical department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, we support patient care, education and research.

Physicians and patients from throughout the Delaware Valley have come to know us for our quality of care in family medicine.

We provide state-of-the-art care while simultaneously advancing the field rather than simply adopting the work of others, ensuring that our patients will be the beneficiaries of outstanding care and providing physicians-in-training and medical students with a high-quality education.

We consist of Internal Medicine physicians specially trained in primary care and multiple subspecialties. Our physicians are leaders in clinical care, education and research, who dedicate themselves to offering advanced medicine and personal service.

We have a bipartite mission: to generate and disseminate new knowledge of the basic workings of the immune system and the biology of infectious pathogens and to train the future generations of biomedical researchers, educators and healthcare professionals.

We offer graduate training in contemporary physiology and biophysics and a program leading to a PhD degree. 

We represent one of the busiest academic neurosurgery programs in the country, offering comprehensive management for patients with neurosurgical diseases affecting the brain and spine. 

Our Department’s neurologists have been recognized nationally and internationally for clinical and research expertise and innovations.

Our faculty members teach neuroscience to medical students and play a prominent role in training graduate students through the Graduate Program in Neuroscience.

Wills Eye Hospital, which serves as the Department of Ophthalmology for Sidney Kimmel Medical College and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, is rated among the best in the nation for Ophthalmology by U.S.News & World Report.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the bridge between modern dentistry and modern medicine.

Our Department is fortunate to include leading clinicians from the Rothman Institute at Jefferson and The Philadelphia Hand Center at Jefferson.
