Maria D. Stewart is responsible for conducting medical record audits and assisting in the development and implementation of educational programs, HIPAA violation investigations, and as well as other special projects. Prior to joining the Office of University Counsel, Mrs. Stewart was employed as a Practice Manager at Methodist Hospital. Prior to joining Thomas Jefferson University, Mrs. Stewart worked as a Coding and Billing Manager in the specialties of Cardiology, Diagnostic Studies and ER. Mrs. Stewart, who is also a Certified Professional Coder, is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management at Immaculata University.
