Dean Beth Ann Swan Selected to Attend Innovative Program for Academic Leaders

Beth Ann Swan, PhD, CRNP, FAAN, the dean of Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson School of Nursing, was selected to attend the inaugural AACN-Wharton Executive Leadership Program. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) formed this world-class enrichment program with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to enhance healthcare leadership and address the challenges academic healthcare leaders face today.
The program covered topics such as building strategic relationships and revolutionizing organizational structures to best fit the needs of the changing healthcare industry. These topics, in conjunction with the academic focus, gave insight on providing innovative education for nurses.
The program was highly selective with only 37 nurse educators participating from 25 states. It was sponsored by the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence, funded by the Jonas Family Fund. It took place from August 14-17, 2012, in Philadelphia, Pa.
