JeffHope Honors Dr. David Manoff
Greetings from JeffHOPE, the nation's largest student run clinic. Every year we hold a charity ball in conjunction with a silent auction to bring the Jefferson community together for an evening of dinner and dancing to celebrate the continued success of JeffHOPE and to recognize our student, resident, and faculty volunteers for their hard work throughout the year.
Dr. Dave Manoff, a fellow in the division of pulmonary & critical care here at Jefferson University / Hospital will be recognized with a plaque honoring his exceptional commitment and outstanding service to the homeless men and women of Philadelphia through his dedication to working with JeffHOPE. Dr. Manoff has been a regular presence for the past several years, and has in fact won this award for 2 previous years (we might title it the “Manoff award”!). Through his generosity and compassion he has not only helped us serve many of Philadelphia's most disadvantaged but also has been integral to the medical education of many of our JeffHOPE volunteers, helping to guide their skills in taking histories, performing physical exams, and formulating treatment plans. This is a forum where we will thank him for his hard work and selflessness.
This year, the JeffHOPE Ball with be held on February 15, 2013 at the Ballroom at the Ben Franklin House. Admission includes a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, three course dinner and open bar from 7 pm to midnight. Tickets are $75 for students and residents and $100 for faculty and staff. Our silent auction includes great deals to some of Philly's most popular bars and restaurants, hotel stays, spa packages, and autographed sports memorabilia. We will also be raffling off courtside Sixers tickets and a week in Brigantine at the Jersey Shore.
The ball has sold out quickly for the past several years and we expect the same this year.
This is truly an honor and it exemplifies a charitable spirit that is part of being a health care provider!
