"The leadership training in Jefferson's Nurse Anesthesia Program provided an ease in transition to the role of President in the state organization."
Jefferson School of Nursing alumnus Chris Giberson of Voorhees, NJ, has been named president elect of New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists, with a one-year term starting in August. Giberson earned his master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from Jefferson in 2009 and has been active with NJANA since 2010.
As president of the organization, Giberson will oversee the overall operation of the organization. He says, “The focus of my tenure as president will include increasing efficiency and creating a renewable succession planning system within the organization.”
Giberson credits Jefferson as encouraging his involvement in state and national organizations as a student. “While being a student in the nurse anesthesia program at Jefferson, there was a strong encouragement to attend state and national meetings,” he says. “This invaluable exposure led me to the desire to participate in the state and national organizations. The leadership training in Thomas Jefferson's Nurse Anesthesia Program provided an ease in transition to the role of President in the state organization."
