Fox Rehabilitation and Jefferson Announce OT and PT Endowed Scholarships

Timothy A. Fox, MS PT’95, Jefferson alumnus and CEO of Fox Rehabilitation, has established two endowed scholarships for students attending Jefferson School of Health Professions, Thomas Jefferson University. The scholarships are for students interested in pursuing a career working with older adults.

The scholarships, Fox Scholarship for the Advancement of Geriatric Occupational Therapy in Memory of Margaret Sood and Fox Scholarship for the Advancement of Geriatric Physical Therapy, are for occupational therapy and physical therapy students in their final year at Jefferson. The OT scholarship is established in honor of Margaret Sood, a talented and dedicated occupational therapist at Fox Rehabilitation who passed away in 2004.

Two students in each program will be awarded funds each year. Criteria for the scholarships include demonstrated financial need and an interest in geriatrics, including details of work, research or community service experience related to older adults.

Applications are now open for these scholarships. To apply, students must complete the financial aid application process detailed at the Thomas Jefferson University Office of Financial Aid website, http://www.jefferson.edu/financialaid, and submit an essay to the Office of Financial Aid. For inquiries, please contact (215) 955-2867 or financial.aid@jefferson.edu.

Fox Rehabilitation – Geriatric Therapy at Home is a private practice of physical and occupational therapists who specialize in providing rehabilitative services to the geriatric population. Most importantly, these exceptional services are delivered in a setting where people feel most comfortable – in their own home, whether that home is a house, apartment, assisted living residence or even an adult medical day care center. As clinicians specializing in geriatrics, we work hard to create positive changes in our patients’ functional abilities. It is the mission of Fox Rehabilitation to provide the highest quality rehabilitation to the geriatric community with compassion and respect while promoting optimal function and meaningful lives. Fox is quite proud to be able to celebrate over 10 years of excellence in geriatric rehabilitation.
