Admissions Information

Undergraduate entry applicants apply to the combined five-year BS in Health Sciences/MS in Physician Assistant Studies Program or to the Health Sciences, BS (Pre-Physician Assistant) Program through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Thomas Jefferson University, East Falls Campus.

The deadline for the five-year BS in Health Sciences/MS in Physician Assistant Studies program is December 16, 2019. Application review will begin after this deadline with decisions to follow.

Those applying to the Health Sciences, BS (Pre-Physician Assistant) Program can apply by either deadline below:

    November 1 (Early Action)
    March 1 (Regular Decision)

Five-year BS in Health Sciences/MS in Physician Assistant Studies Application Information

Successful applicants are typically high achieving students academically with strong SAT/ACT scores. Healthcare experience is not required but is of benefit.

Application Materials

An application from any of the following sources:

  • Jefferson Online Application
  • $40 non-refundable application fee payable to Thomas Jefferson University
  • Official high school transcript
  • SAT and/or ACT scores
  • Personal essay (for prompts, please click here)
  • Two letters of recommendation: One letter must be from an academic teacher. The other can be from any combination of the following: advisor, clergy, coach, counselor, mentor, supervisor/employer, or teacher.
  • PA specific essay addressing the following prompt: Please discuss your motivation for pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant and detail the attributes you possess that make you well suited for the profession. 250 words minimum.
  • Documentation of health care experience (optional): Experience can include, but is not limited to, volunteering, shadowing, and academic medical programs. You should include the agency name and address, your position/title held, the dates worked and hours accrued, and a detailed description of your responsibilities and/or experiences.

Health Sciences, BS (Pre-Physician Assistant) Application Information

Please note that students in the Pre-Physician Assistant option are not guaranteed admission to the MS Physician Assistant Studies portion of the program.
