Research Interests
Christina M. Colvin specializes in twentieth and twenty-first century American literature, the environmental humanities, digital and visual rhetoric, and animal studies. Her research examines how literary texts expand, challenge, and complement the abilities of the sciences to describe nonhuman animal complexity in the current and previous century. Her peer-reviewed work appears in venues including the Journal of Modern Literature, the International Journal of Comparative Psychology (co-authored with Dr. Lori Marino), and ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment. She is currently at work on a book project that examines representations of species extinction and endangerment in modern and contemporary American literature.
