Jared Bahir Browsh is a journalist, media producer, and mass communication scholar whose research examines the influence of political economics on representation in the media, focusing on television, animation, and sports. Their research examines the history of media companies, producers, and industries to examine the roots of unequal representation in content, and how inclusion of historically marginalized groups has been limited on screen, in news coverage, and behind the scenes. Their most recent work examines the careers of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera while his next project will analyze the legacy of Lou Scheimer and Filmation. Dr. Browsh teaches courses in news production, sports communication, American Studies, media ethics, and representation of race and gender in popular culture.
