Consulting Opportunities

BizBio is dedicated to providing information about opportunities and internships, information sessions, and programs for students interested in consulting. Below are consulting info sessions and internships for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

There are numerous consulting competitions throughout the year, and BizBio is interested in training a team to compete in these competitions. If you are interested, please contact us via email with the subject “Consulting Team.”  Opportunities are open to Jefferson students from both Center City and East Falls campuses and postdoctoral fellows, when applicable.

Bain's Summer Associate (SA) program is an ideal opportunity for MBAs or advanced degree candidates to experience the real world of consulting while discovering what a future with Bain would be like.

Your exciting, intensive summer—often at the global office of your choice—will start with a weeklong, off-site training course, where you'll learn their core consulting skills. If you meet their performance expectations, you will receive an offer to return full-time as a consultant upon graduating.

Internship details:

  • Working closely with full­-time consultants, who will provide coaching and mentoring
  • Working with clients from Fortune 500 companies, midsize firms, nonprofits and start-­ups across many fast-changing industries like consumer goods and retail, technology and telecommunications, financial services, industrial products, private equity and more
  • Presenting the results of your work to partners and clients
  • Applying knowledge and skills from your first year of business school, and gaining access to an unparalleled range of opportunities

  • A twelve-week, full time program between June 6, 2022 and August 26, 2022

Key Qualifications:

  • Deep scientific background in biology, chemistry, AI/ML, computer science, statistics, or related scientific fields
  • Creative in the ability to solve complex scientific problems
  • Currently a final-year graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, or  professional with a scientific background (PhD, MD, JD, MS, or other scientifically-focused degree) from a top institution or program
  • Available for full time employment in Fall 2022 or by Spring 2023

Academy Leadership Development Program Details:

The Academy is a unique leadership development program consisting of professionals early in their career who possess a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. From pharma to healthcare payers and providers, our team comes from all areas of the healthcare system. Not experienced in this industry yet? You’ll fit right in too, as our program is designed to upskill new team members from other disciplines such as data science, engineering, economics, and finance to name a few.

This program begins with an intensive 12-week training period to prepare its members for client-facing roles with IQVIA’s pharmaceutical clients. During this full-time training, you will hone your data analytics and consulting skillset through a combination of classroom-based lectures, interactive case studies, hands-on working sessions, client role-playing scenarios, and real-time project shadowing/support. As a result, you will develop a strong network consisting of internal IQVIA leaders, subject matter experts, and countless other Academy alums.

Consulting Analyst Position Details:

  •  Successfully complete IQVIA Academy’s intensive foundational training program
  • Actively participate (with senior support) in client engagement(s) like forecasting, marketing analytics, and sales analytics, with location dependent on business demands
  • Analyze secondary data and desk market research to identify key findings and trends while understanding the nuances and differences of each IQVIA data asset
  • Perform quantitative or qualitative analysis to support data preparation, ensure quality control, and deliver client deliverables and business decisions as they relate to IQVIA data
  • Assist in creation of presentations for clients and attend, support and present at client meetings with senior support, working willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals both internally and externally
  • Develop broad knowledge of related consulting methodologies and the pharmaceutical market through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in ongoing formal and informal learning opportunities, managing projects and work-streams of reasonable size

Key Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree with up to 2 years of relevant analytics or healthcare experience (including internships)
  • An avid interest in healthcare analytics and data, with an understanding of the US healthcare market
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of sales & marketing business principals
  • Excellent interpersonal, team-oriented working style, whether it be determining the best methodology for a particular analysis, or the best song choice options at team karaoke
  • Willingness to relocate anywhere within the United States

Aptagen, LLC is a biotechnology and life-sciences company, and global leader in developing aptamers (synthetic antibody) products and services. These products can be used as research agents, diagnostics, biosensors, and tools for biomarker or drug discovery. Aptamers can also be used for bioindustrial applications and targeted therapeutics.

Aptagen is seeking qualified and highly motivated M.S. Students, College Graduates, and Postdoctoral Fellows who seek training opportunities and  professional experience in biotechnology. Applications are accepted year around. Paid stipend and free housing is available for some positions.
