John grew up in Ambler, Pa outside of Philadelphia. He earned his B.S. in Biology at Shippensburg University with a minor in Biochemistry. He is a fourth-year PhD student in the Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CBRM) program. John works in the laboratory of Dr. Nancy Philp studying the metabolic coupling in the retina.

Gabby grew up in Penn Valley, PA, just outside Philly. She received her BA in 2015 from Vassar College where she double majored in Biology and French. She then worked as a tech in Dr. Alfonso Bellacosa's lab at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Gabby is currently a 4th year PhD student in the IMP program working in Dr. Mattias Schnell's lab.

Ben is from Lancaster, Pa, and earned his BS in Biochemistry from Eastern University in 2015. He spent a year conducting experiments for an industrial polymer research lab at Total Cray Valley before applying to graduate school. Ben is currently a PhD candidate in the Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology program where he studies systems biology of liver regeneration in the Vadigepalli lab.

Hannah grew up in Riverton, NJ and earned her BS in Biochemistry at Rowan University and her MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rowan as well.  Hannah decided to pursue a PhD at Jefferson and joined the Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology program in 2019.  Hannah currently works for Elda Grabocka studying stress granules, stress-adaptation, KRAS, and pancreatic cancer.

Jess is from Hanover, PA, otherwise known as the Snackfood Capital of the World. She graduate from Rollins College in 2017 with a BA in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology and a minor in Spanish. She is an upcoming second-year PhD student in the Genetics, Genomics, and Cancer Biology (GGCB) program. Currently, Jess is in the Snook-Waldman lab, studying colorectal cancer stem cells.

Gina grew up in Freehold, NJ and earned her BS in Biochemistry from Rutgers University - New Brunswick in 2017. She is currently a third year PhD student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology program. She works in the lab of Dr. Dmitry Temiakov, studying the molecular mechanisms underlying human mitochondrial transcription and replication.

Karina grew up in Chester County, PA and earned her BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State in 2018. She is a master’s student in the Biomedical Sciences program and also works for Jefferson as a research technician in Dr. Pera’s lab. Her research involves finding novel approaches to treating asthma with biased molecules.

Nicolette grew up in Philadelphia suburbs in West Chester, PA. She graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She is currently a fifth year PhD student in the Neuroscience department studying spinal cord injury under the mentorship of Dr. Angelo Lepore.

Shira grew up right outside of Northeast Philadelphia. She earned her BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Psychology as a Social Science from the University of Rochester in 2017. She is currently a fourth year PhD student in the Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CBRM) program. She works in the lab of Dr. Makarand Risbud studying the Role of Hypoxia Inducible Factors (HIFs) in Nucleus Pulposus Cell Adaptation.

Katerina grew up in Riverside, CA and earned her BS in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics from the University of California, San Diego in 2015. She spent several years at a biotech firm working on nano-antibody development before deciding to pursue a master's degree. Katerina is about to enter her 2nd year in the Clinical Research program.

Tess graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Biochemistry in 2011. She taught high school Biology in New Orleans, Louisiana and then worked as a Research Technician at Xavier University of Louisiana until 2015. Tess is a PhD candidate in the Genetics, Genomics, and Cancer Biology Program and studies cancer biology and computational medicine in Dr. Isidore Rigoutsos' Lab.
