Biography
Dr. John McAna is Assistant Professor and Capstone Coordinator at the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH). His teaching responsibilities currently include the Public Health Capstone Seminar and Epidemiology & Evidence for Outcomes Research. He is also responsible for providing epidemiological, statistical and programming support for active projects and assists in protocol development for proposed projects. Dr. McAna has a BS in Biology from Manhattan College in New York and an MA in Biology from City College of New York. He earned his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in cancer and environmental epidemiology. Dr. McAna has fourteen years of experience doing healthcare/health services analysis and research in the managed care industry (Independence Blue Cross and Greater Atlantic Health Service), six years in the biomedical information industry (Information Ventures, Inc.), six years in public health (both the New York and New Jersey State Departments of Public Health) and eight years working for JCPH.
