BIOGRAPHY

Lawrence Ward, M.D., M.P.H., FACP is Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He is a general internist who completed his M.D. at Jefferson Medical College and residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to medical school, he completed an MPH at George Washington University with a focus on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.  Currently, Dr. Ward is the Executive Vice-Chairman in the Department of Medicine at Jefferson as well as an Associate Medical Director for the Delaware Valley ACO.  In those roles, he directs operations for many of Jefferson’s primary care practices, develops innovative practice designs and leads efforts on quality improvement, population health and pay for performance.  Dr. Ward is also the American College of Physicians Governor for Southeastern Pennsylvania thru 2022.
