Research & Clinical Interests
Christina Calhoun Thielen is a Physical Therapist and serves as the Coordinator for the Center for Outcomes and Measurement within the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences. Her background includes work as Clinical Research Project Coordinator where she oversaw several multi-center research studies. Many of the studies she worked on involved the development and validation of outcomes including the development and validation of item banks and computer adaptive tests for children with spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy, evaluation of patient reported outcomes for children, and pediatric clinical performance assessments. As a practicing physical therapist and rehabilitation team leader, she focused on the evaluation and treatment of pediatric patients, primarily with spinal cord injury but also with other neurological and orthopedic diagnoses. Ms. Calhoun Theilen has authored book chapters and worked to develop guidelines for the treatment of children with spinal cord injury. She has also written several peer reviewed manuscripts and presented at both national and international conferences.
