Research & Clinical Interests
Dr. Akers’ clinical and research interests include aphasia, conversation-based treatments for aphasia, discourse outcome measures, and the psychosocial effects of neurogenic communication disorders on families. Dr. Akers is a certified speech-language pathologist who has worked with adults in various healthcare settings.
