Tom Knudsen, PhD '81

Tom Knudsen, PhD, is a Developmental Systems Biologist at the U.S. EPA Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure, where he is a lead in the Virtual Tissue Models project. His research focuses on building and testing a ‘virtual embryo’ framework for predictive modeling of prenatal developmental toxicity for children's environmental health protection. This entails integration of in-vitro chemical profiling with biological knowledge of in-vivo embryology.

Dr. Knudsen is a Past-President of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (formerly the Teratology Society) and is Editor-in-Chief of Current Research in Toxicology, Co-Editor of Toxicology, and past Editor of Reproductive Toxicology.
