M. Dean Kinsey, MD '69, Residency '72, Fellowship '73

M. Dean Kinsey, MD '69, is currently retired from consulting and the clinical practice of Gastroenterology. Prior to retirement he was a founding member of Insight Health Partners, LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience in consulting, medical management, academic medicine, and group practice. Prior to his most recent consulting work, he was Vice Dean for Clinical Programs and Planning at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, and prior to that Managing Director at Navigant Consulting and Senior Vice President of The Hunter Group.

Over his consulting career, Dr. Kinsey addressed physician issues and served in several interim positions including: Interim Chief Medical Officer for a recently acquired hospital in a large Catholic Health System, Interim CEO for a large physician, health system-owned practice in bankruptcy, and Interim President of a large academic physician group.

Prior to moving to consulting, Dr. Kinsey practiced medicine in a multi-specialty internal medicine group practice for 18 years and served as VPMA at Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mt. Holly, N.J., for eight years.

Dr. Kinsey, a board-certified gastroenterologist, completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and spent three years at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. He returned to Thomas Jefferson University and was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine.
