Jefferson Alumni Network App FAQs

How do I get the app?

The Jefferson Alumni Network app, powered by EverTrue, is available from the iTunes App Store (Apple devices) and Google Play (Android devices). Search for "EverTrue" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download. Once installed on your device, open the app, which will be titled “EverTrue” and you will be prompted to search for your community. Begin typing "Jefferson" and select the correct community, “Thomas Jefferson University.”

What devices are compatible?

The app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices and is only available to verified alumni of Jefferson. If you experience any problems logging in, please contact us at or 215-955-7750 iOS Supported Devices The current version of iOS and one previous version are supported. Currently, Apple iOS 7 and 8 are supported. It is recommended that you update your iOS software for the best user experience.

Android Supported Devices

Currently, the Jefferson Alumni Network app supports most Android devices running version 4.0.3 of the Android operating system or later. The Android ecosystem is very diverse and not all manufacturers and carriers use the same versions of Android. Please inquire at if your device has difficulty running the app.

Will the app work on Windows phones?

No, the Jefferson Alumni Network App is not supported on Windows phones. It is currently only developed for iOS and Android.

How do I log in for the first time?

Once you have downloaded the app, you will be asked to log in with your first and last name and email address. If the email address matches what is on file in the Jefferson alumni database, you will receive an authentication message in your email inbox. You need to open the email you receive on the mobile device that you used to download the app. Then click “Verify” to be granted access to the app. If the email address provided is not on record, you will receive an email asking you to update your email address with Jefferson. To update your email, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at or call 215-955-7750 . Please allow 7 business days before your email is updated in the system.

How do I connect the app with my LinkedIn account?

You can connect to your LinkedIn account one of two ways. The first step is logging in to the app using your LinkedIn account. The second option is to click on the settings option in the top right-hand corner of the home screen. You can then switch the button to turn on the LinkedIn connection. You’ll be directed to a login screen where you will need to use your LinkedIn login information. Any information that is provided by LinkedIn will appear on your profile screen with the LinkedIn icon to the right. If your business address or any other information from LinkedIn is different from what's displayed in the app, please send an update to How are profile photos pulled into the app? Profile photos are pulled in from LinkedIn after you connect your accounts. Users can’t upload profile photos.

What personal information will be available for alumni to see? 

Your contact information including name, city, state, email address, class year, Jefferson degree(s), specialty and business information will be available to verified Jefferson alumni who download and then log into the app. In addition, any information that is provided by LinkedIn will appear on your profile screen with the LinkedIn icon to the right. Telephone numbers are not available in the app.

How do I edit or correct my profile information that is displayed in the app?

The Jefferson Alumni Network app relies on self-reported information from Jefferson alumni. Help keep the directory up-to-date with your personal and business information. In order to better protect the integrity of the directory, you can't alter your information in real time through the app. To edit your information, select the "Update this Profile" button on the bottom of your profile and list any necessary changes, or email Allow 7 business days for all changes to take effect. Suggest an update for a fellow classmate, friend, or family member by clicking the “Update this Profile” button at the bottom of that user’s profile. Allow 7 business days for all changes to take effect.

How do I hide my personal information displayed in the app, or opt out completely?

If you would like to hide certain information from your profile or opt out of the app completely, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 215-955-7750 or Allow 7 business days for the changes to take effect. Please note if you opt out completely, you will not show up in the directory or be able to use the app.

How do I locate alumni using the Alumni Nearby tool?

The Alumni Nearby tool has many great functions that allow you to easily reconnect with fellow alumni. Click on the “Alumni Nearby” tab on the home screen to see a map of your current location with alumni in the area. Select any of the pinpoints to discover more about the alumni on the map. You can also choose to view this information in list form by clicking “List” in the lower right-hand corner of the map. Additionally, you can click on the magnifying glass in the upper right-hand corner of the map, which allows you to do a more advanced search. You can also zoom out by pinching two fingers together on the screen, and then dragging your fingers to the desired location on the map. A pinpoint indicates alumni in that area.

Does the app show my current location?

No, your current location will not be tracked by EverTrue or Jefferson. The Alumni Nearby function simply pinpoints your preferred address and would not show anyone your current location.

How can I search for a list of my classmates?

Go to the "Directory" on the home screen, and then:

  1. Select the magnifying glass in the upper right-hand corner
  2. In the “Year” search field, select the class year range you wish to search
  3. Select “Done”
  4. Select “Apply” in the upper right-hand corner You can also search alumni by their name, school name, major, degree, specialty, and business information and well as LinkedIn professional information such as industry.

Can I email alumni directly from the app?

Yes. After you find their profile, you will have the option to contact them through the information they have available. You do this by clicking on their contact Information, which will prompt your phone to open up your email messenger. Please note that multiple emails may be available. If you find a personal contact who doesn't have their correct information listed, you can “Suggest an Update” to make sure their profile is up-to-date.
