Trust the Process highlights the importance of self-reflection and giving yourself time to grow. It is easy to look back at one’s own work with unloving eyes and only see the flaws; but my collection looks back at my work with appreciation for the highs and lows. My collection draws inspiration from the MET’s “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” and “Rei Kawakubo: Art of the In-Between”, along with my previous fashion projects. These exhibits showed me how designers work from start to finish and the time it takes to develop their skills into that of a professional fashion designer. Trust the Process collection features two original prints I developed and printed.
