Diploma Information/FAQs

For Spring 2019 graduate-level and all JCN graduates only, your diploma will be available for pick up immediately following your graduation ceremony. Please remember to bring a photo IDwith you to authorize the release of your diploma. If you are unable to attend the ceremony or your graduation date is for the Summer or Winter semester, your diploma will be mailed to you approximately four to six weeks following your official graduation date.

For Spring 2019, all undergraduate students, with the exception of JCN, your diplomas will be Federal Expressed to the address indicated on your Graduation Application within two weeks of graduation.  Unfortunately, due to the timing of the ceremony and when classes end, we are not able to process diplomas in time to receive them at the May 10th ceremony.  

The Office of Academic Services will send out the diplomas to Spring graduates who do not attend the ceremony within 4-6 weeks of the conferral date.

Similarly, the Office of Academic Services will send out the diplomas to August 31st and December 31st graduates within 4-6 weeks of the conferral date.

Please note we will not be able to give or send diplomas to students who have holds on their accounts.

Your diploma will be mailed to the address you entered when filling out your graduation application. 

Holds that impact diplomas include: Online Exit Interview & Exit Paperwork (Financial Aid), Tuition hold (Tuition office), Exit Paperwork (Tuition Office).

Students will be notified prior to their graduation date via email about any holds they have on their account and how to have them lifted.

In order to request a reprint of your diploma, The Office of Academic Services requires a notarized letter with the following information:

  1. Your name as you would like it printed on the diploma
  2. The reason why you need a diploma reprint
  3. Your social security number
  4. The date and  year of your graduation
  5. The degree that you graduated with and program (if applicable)
  6. The address where you would like the diploma sent (Diplomas cannot be mailed to P.O. Boxes)
  7. Current phone number
  8. Current email address

Please note, that email requests for diploma reprints will not be accepted.

Along with this letter, there is a $25 fee set for all reprint costs, and checks may be made payable to Thomas Jefferson University.  Please mail both the letter and the check to the following address:

Reprint diploma requests may take up to three weeks for processing.

  1. Your name as you would like it printed on the diploma
  2. The reason why you need you need a diploma reprint.  The University will only re-print your MD diploma if it was damaged.  The damaged diploma will need to be returned to the University prior to a new one being issued.  All other diplomas can be reprinted.

  3. Your social security number
  4. The date and year of your graduation
  5. The degree that you graduated with and program (if applicable)
  6. The address where you would like the diploma sent (Diplomas can not be mailed to P.O. Boxes)
  7. Current phone number
  8. Current email address

Please note, that email requests for diploma reprints will not be accepted.

An outside vendor is contracted by the University to engross these diplomas, so consequently, a reprint diploma can take anywhere from six to nine weeks for completion.
