Attention Jefferson - East Falls Campus Physician Assistant Graduate Students:
If you indicate on your Graduation Application that you will be participating in the Graduation Ceremony, this means that you will be participating in the May 2020 Commencement Ceremony. You will need to order your Commencement ceremony regalia.

Please remember that this is a different ceremony to your Completion Ceremony, which takes place in August 2020, and you will not need any regalia for that ceremony.

Congratulations on the achievement of your degree from Thomas Jefferson University!

The Commencement Ceremony will be held at the PA Convention Center, located at 1101 Arch Street on May 14, 2020.  The ceremony will take place in Hall E.

The morning ceremony will consist of the conferral for the following colleges and will last until approximately until 12:30 p.m.:

  • Jefferson College of Health Professions (BS in Health Sciences only)
  • Jefferson School of Continuing & Professional Studies (Undergraduate Only)
  • Jefferson College of Humanities and Sciences (Undergraduate Only)
  • Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce (Undergraduate Only)
  • Jefferson College of Architecture and the Built Environment (Undergraduate Only)
  • Jefferson College of Life Sciences (Undergraduate Only)

We ask that the undergraduate population report by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of Commencement, Thursday, May 14, 2020 (via the Broad Street entrance) so that they may participate in an actual dress rehearsal of the Commencement Ceremony.  Students will first check into their program-specific robing rooms for correct marching order, help with robing, and name announcement verifications. Light refreshments will also be provided for the graduates in each of the robing rooms. 

Guests are advised to enter the PA Convention Center from the Broad Street entrance and wait in the lobby until the doors for Hall E open.  Guests will not be seated in Hall E until 9:45 a.m. 

The afternoon ceremony will consist of the conferral for the following colleges and school.  It will last approximately until 4:30 p.m.:

  • Jefferson College of Health Professions (BS in Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences, BS in Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology, and all Graduate level programs)
  • Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences (Graduate only)
  • Jefferson School of Continuing & Professional Studies (Graduate only)

There are accommodations at the PA Convention Center for special seating or Accessible Requests. Requests are due into the University Office of the Registrar by March 1st and provisions are limited. If your circumstances have changed after the March 1st deadline and you now need to request special seating please send an email immediately to graduation@jefferson.edu. Please note, neither Thomas Jefferson University nor the PA Convention Center can provide, loan or rent wheelchairs for guests with special needs.

Tickets & Seating Information

All students who will be attending the 2020 Commencement at the PA Convention Center are guaranteed four tickets for their guests with unassigned seating.

Students will be notified by email if more tickets become available for the cememony. 

Please be advised that any remaining outstanding obligations with the University (exit Interview, tuition balance, etc.) must be satisfied before receiving your diploma.

Important Ticketing Information

All students who will be attending the 2020 Commencement ceremony are guaranteed four tickets for their guests. Students will be notified by email if more tickets become available. The Grad Fair will be April 14 and 15 for Jefferson - East Falls Campus Colleges in the Kanbar Performance Space; and on April 13 and 14 for Jefferson - Center City Campus Colleges in the JAH Atrium from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. each day.

If a student is unable to pick up his or her regalia and tickets, he or she may arrange to have a designated person pick them up instead. The designated person must present a copy or picture of the graduate’s photo ID in order to receive the regalia and tickets.

A representative from Balfour will be present to take orders for class rings as well as graduation announcements.  You will also be able to pre-order your frame for your diploma.
