Michael Pellini, MD, & Melina Pellini, MS, PhD

Michael Pellini, MD, is the Managing Partner of Section 32, a venture fund that invests in companies and inventors that are changing the way humans use technology – and the way technology betters humanity.

As a physician with more than 20 years of experience with companies at the forefront of clinical diagnostics and genomics, Dr. Pellini brings extensive understanding to the world of personalized medicine. He is particularly interested and focused on defeating cancer.

Dr. Pellini is currently a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Thomas Jefferson University as well as the Advisory Board for Mission Hospital’s Cancer Institute (Provident/St. Joseph’s Health). In addition, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for multiple healthcare organizations including Tango Theraputics, Nusano, Vineti, Singular Genomics, Adaptive Biotechnologies, Octave Health, the Personalized Medicine Coalition, and the Mission Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Pellini received a BA from Boston College, an MBA from Drexel University, and an MD from Jefferson Medical College.

Melina MacPhee Pellini, MS, PhD, began her career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a Research Technician in the Department of Urology. During her time at Jefferson, she earned her MS in Microbiology and went on to complete her PhD in Molecular Genetics. She later served as an adjunct professor in the College of Life Sciences. Currently, Dr. Melina Pellini runs several local youth organizations and teaches at the Ocean Institute in California.

Drs. Michael and Melini Pellini reside in Dana Point, California with their three sons.
