Laboratory Inspections

Lab inspections are performed annually with the exception of BL3 labs which are inspected every six months. Listed below are items that are reviewed during a lab inspection:

• Hazard Communication
  • Proper chemical container labeling
  • Safety Data Sheets available
• Safe Use of Laboratory Equipment
• Compressed gas cylinders used and stored appropriately
• Chemical Storage
• Proper handling of chemical waste
• Biological Safety
• Proper handling of infectious waste
• Emergency Preparedness
  • Eyewashes available and inspection
• Personal Protective Equipment
