Chemical Inventory

A chemical inventory list from each department is mandatory in ensuring that Thomas Jefferson University maintains compliance with OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and The Joint Commission requirements.

Individual departments are responsible for maintaining an inventory of all chemicals in the work place. The following information is required on chemical inventories:

  • Building and Room Number
  • Department
  • Contact person and contact number
  • Date prepared/updated
  • Chemical Name
  • Manufacturer
  • Total Quantity
  • SDS Available

The Chemical Inventory list should be updated annually and each time a chemical material is added or removed from inventory.
