A 'CODE RED' announced over the paging system means 'Fire or Fire Drill.' The telephone operator will repeat this three (3) times, followed each time by the location of the alarm.
For example, if there is a fire on the seventh floor Thompson, it will be announced:
“CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson.
CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson.
CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson.”
CODE RED Confirmed: An announcement which indicates that there is an actual fire within the building that may affect normal operations.
When the alarm is over, the telephone operator will announce an 'ALL CLEAR' three (3) times:
“CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson, All Clear.
CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson, All Clear.
CODE RED, 7th floor, Thompson, All Clear.”
