Group Exercise Programming

Group exercise classes are free for all full-time Jefferson students and included in the membership cost of all Jefferson Recreation & Fitness Center members.

Enjoy variety, flexibility and fun with our exciting and challenging group exercise classes.  Classes are designed to provide a balanced workout routine.  The group exercise offers a diverse range of cardiovascular training, strength training, and flexibility.  Mix and match, the option is yours.

Aisha Shabazz

Aisha has been teaching at Jefferson for two months. She teaches Vinyasa Yoga and her classes generally involve poses that cultivate strength. She encourages her students to notice the beautiful subtitles of life through their yoga practice. Her favorite part about teaching is being able to provide positive encouragement. Fun fact: She love sports mascots-Gritty & her just became Bffs. Life Philosohpy: Life is too short to walk around without a healthy dose of laughter. She hopes to see you at one of her classes!

Fernando Quesada

Fernando has been teaching at Jefferson for ten years now. He is a huge fan of plyometric, isometric, and calisthenic movements, all of which are featured in his classes Interval Training, Core Attack, and Abs, Butts & Shoulders.  Working out with a group of participants is very important to him, it's a fun way to keep everyone else motivated. A fun fact about him is that he enjoys to travel, sample food and learn about different cultures from all over the world. His classes will help you find and keep your motivation for the next challenging workout.

Roseann Schaaf

Roseann has been teaching at the JRFC for two years. She is also a professor in the OT program. Roseann teaches yoga and her classes generally involve a combination of stretching, strengthening and balance. Her favorite part about teaching is getting to know the participants that attend her class. She loves teaching at the JRFC because the energy is great as well as the staff. Come check out her class.

PJ Craig

PJ has been teaching at Jefferson for five months. She teaches Barre and Zumba. Her classes generally involved a makeup of strength and endurance training with ballet and dance inspired exercises. Her favorite part about teaching is connecting with students and seeing how much they improve over time! She loves teaching at the JRFC because the people are kind, energetic, and passionate about getting healthy. Fun fact: She loves the challenge that ballet gives my body, so she tries to infuse her barre class with exercises that give her students that same ballet challenge.

Felicia Graham

Felicia has been teaching at Jefferson for ten years. She teaches vinyasa yoga. Her class generally involves a mixture of sun salutations, standing balancing poses, hip openers, back bends, forward folds and twists. Her favorite part about teaching is no one ever regrets making time to practice yoga. She loves teaching at the JRFC because it is the first place she ever took a yoga class. Her class is accessible to beginners, those with an advanced practice and the rest of us that fall somewhere in the middle.

Brian Love

Brian has been teaching at the JRFC for two months. He teaches power vinyasa yoga. His classes generally involve a makeup of yoga poses that build strength and core. His favorite part about teaching is seeing participants feel empowered. In addition to teaching, he is also a graphic artist and can be seen walking his dog, Ziggy, around campus.

Katie Hartsock

Katie has been teaching yoga at TJU for over two years. She has been practicing yoga for 16+ years and decided to obtain her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification in the summer of 2012. Her classes focus on combining strengthening, core stability, flexibility, and cardio all in one - so come prepared for a good work out! She also likes to emphasize mindfulness and breath work, and usually end her classes with a progressive, guided meditation. Katie has enjoyed seeing her students grow their practice over time, as yoga is all about the journey. Come get your zen on with Katie any time.

Fun Fact: Teaching yoga is her side gig. She is currently an Oncology Nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital and a proud former Jefferson alumnae (TJU FACT '16).

Timaree Schmit

Timaree has been teaching at Jefferson for a billion thousand years (actually just since 2011). She teaches pilates, spin and dance boot camp. They're super different but all a ton of fun. It's super important to her that everyone finds a way to workout that makes them feel stronger, powerful and beautiful. She loves teaching at the JRFC because the members are so cool and hard working. She has made a lot of friends here.

Gina Palermo

Gina has been teaching as Jefferson for nine months. She teaches boot camp, HIIT, Cycle circuit express, and strength training. Her classes generally involved a makeup of circuit and tabata bases exercises. Her favorite part about teaching is connecting with participants. Fun fact: She love the office so you can say she's a little stitious not superstitious. Come and check out her classes.

Stephen Doll

Stephen has been teaching at Jefferson for 11 years. He teach Spinning and Splash and Burn (swimming boot camp). His class/classes generally involved a makeup of cardio and strength exercises. His favorite part about teaching is motivating people to reach their true potential. He loves teaching at the JRFC because of the diversity of students, faculty and staff. It’s great to interact. Daria Petraglia

Daria has been teaching at Jefferson for over 15 years. Her classes generally contain a combination of strengthening exercises, core conditioning, and Tabata drills. She teaches Core and More on Wednesday’s at 6:30 pm and Total Tone on Thursday’s at 5:10 pm. Her favorite part about teaching is creating programs to work the body effectively with unique exercises that require minimal repetitions... you will never do 100 crunches in her class! . Fun Fact: She is a Jefferson graduate and works as a physical therapist when she is not teaching classes. Also, she is a big theater, move, and music buff.
