Research & Clinical Interest

My lab is interested in calcium signaling in the nervous system, in particular, how regulations of ion channels, such as voltage-gated calcium channels and small conductance potassium channels, contribute to changes in neuronal activities. In addition, we are interested in how small molecule compounds target these ion channels. We use a variety of techniques, including biophysical biochemical approaches, molecular biology, structural biolgy and electrophysiology to study the interactions between ion channels and other molecules.
