Thomas Jefferson University

Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry

Integrative Psychiatric Care &
Psychosomatic Medicine

Welcome from the Program Director

The Department of Psychiatry is pleased to offer an ACGME-accredited fellowship in consultation-liaision psychiatry.  This one year program offers fellows a diverse, multidisciplinary training environment that provides comprehensive training in the field of psychosomatic medicine.

Our consultation liaison service is housed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a large academic medical center established in 1825.  Jefferson is home to the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, an internationally recognized neuroscience program and a Level I trauma center.

Fellows experience patients in a wide range of diagnostic entities, utilize and learn the gamut of therapeutic options in consultation-liaision psychiatry, and develop competency in the evaluation and management of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric disorders in all age ranges. Fellows are also actively involved in teaching and research. Those who have completed our program obtain careers in both academic and clinical environments.

In addition to our core faculty, the program has additional faculty members representing multiple disciplines including psychiatry, neurology, psychology, neurosurgery, palliative care, obstetrics and gynecology, transplantation medicine, oncology, and hematology. The diversity of our faculty reflects the multidisciplinary nature of the curriculum.

I invite you to explore more about our curriculum.  If you have any questions about the fellowship, feel free to contact me directly.
