The Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University & Hospitals is offering the annual Simon Kramer Society Externship in Radiation Oncology. This externship will allow for medical students to participate in research in the discipline of radiation oncology for a minimum of 6 weeks. During this time, the student will work with a team to perform research and will also participate in educational activities designed to afford the student an experience with breadth and depth in radiation oncology.
Eligibility
Open to first & second year medical college students.
Stipend
We are able to provide each extern with a $750 stipend which will be paid within two weeks of their arrival at Jefferson. We are not able to provide any assistance with travel, housing, meals, or other expenses. There may be an opportunity for housing on the Jefferson campus during the externship (which we can help you explore) but this is also at the student’s expense.
How to Apply
When applying, students should indicate whether they wish to pursue a research project in medical physics, molecular radiation biology, or clinical radiation oncology.
The application for the 2023 Simon Kramer Summer Externship will be available in January 2023.
