Schafer Selected for National Leadership Role for Specialists in Pharmacy Practice


ASHP is a 40,000-member, national professional organization consisting of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students.  By advocating and supporting the professional practice of pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory care clinics, and other settings, ASHP serves its members as their collective voice on issues related to medication use and public health.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (09/26/2013) –Jason J. Schafer, Pharm.D., MPH, BCPS, AAHIVP of the College of Pharmacy at Thomas Jefferson University has been selected to serve as Director-at-Large on an important American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) executive committee. Specifically, this peer-elected position contributes to the leadership of the ASHP’s Pharmacy Practice Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists.

Dr. Schafer is a clinical specialist in infectious diseases and associate professor of pharmacy practice at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy. He has served as the ASHP’s Pharmacy Practice Section infectious diseases network facilitator and as a member of its advisory group on clinical leadership.
