Student Personal Counseling Center
Students have access to the services of mental health professionals through the Student Personal Counseling Center (SPCC). SPCC gives students a safe place to confidentially discuss issues affecting their well-being, such as stress management or personal or family relationships. By appointment only, please.

Each matriculating student is assigned to one of eight learning societies. These societies have been created to promote the social development of communities of students and faculty and are designed to nurture professional and personal development.
Each society is assigned to a community site and students plan service activities for their site. Students also plan social events that serve as a way for students to get to know members of the student body.
Married Student & Significant Other Society
This organization provides support to couples and their families through medical school and strives to ease the transition to the Jefferson community by providing information, employment services and emotional and social guidance. On-going social events and relationship seminars are hosted throughout the year.
SKMC Student Council
The SKMC Student Council is comprised of elected representatives from each class at SKMC. Each year, the first through fourth years vote to elect:
- Two Co-Presidents
- Secretary of External Affairs
- Secretary of Communications
- Six representatives from each of the four classes
Additionally, select students are chosen to sit on University administrative committees.
Major responsibilities of the Student Council include supervision of student organizations, disbursement of university funds, and the dissemination of information on issues pertinent to student life. Most importantly, Student Council serves as a liaison between the students, faculty, and administration.
Check out the latest issue of Black & Blue, the Student Council newsletter.
We have over 100 student-run, faculty-sponsored organizations. These organizations allow our students to explore interests both within and outside of the medical profession. There are interest groups in:
- Most medical specialties
- Arts groups (ex. Jefferson Arts Organizations, Jefferson Dance Troupe, Jefferson Chamber Orchestra)
- Community service groups
- Sports clubs
Sidney Kimmel Medical College hosts a number of social events to promote collegiality between members of the student body as well as between faculty and students.
